The Jokic Tony Brothers fued needs to be looked into. It’s not a coincidence at this point.

xD are u trolling? No shit, can you imagine Jokic statlines with the same whistle as Giannis or Embiid? NBA is a business first, entertainment second and a sports league maybe like 5th or sum shit

Like the one commenter said Jok has so many passes to cutters that he passes open so it makes sense we may not be near the top. But if anyone has watched a single nuggets game and thought yeah it makes sense that Jok only gets about 6 free throws per game… you are full of shit

I have no explanation for this at all lol

How? Just think about it for like 2 seconds. If that doesn’t work, read some comments and watch some games.

Because Jokic scores a lot of points in the paint efficiently and he makes majority of the contact so he doesn’t get tons of free throws

Jokic generates an incredible number of uncontested layups and dunks for cutters. Defenses don’t even have time to foul since they’re usually focused on the Jokic post-up making them late on the cutters.

This is the answer imo, as I’ve also mentioned elsewhere before. I would add that back to the basket post-ups also don’t get a ton of foul calls normally, which is another way we score in the paint. Like, I’m not saying our whistle is great, but I don’t usually come away from a game thinking we got screwed over by the refs. Sometimes I’ll go read our sub after a game and see a bunch of complaining about reffing that I thought was at least fair (bad calls are both ways), so clearly some people feel differently, but I don’t really see it.

I think part of it recently is the fact we’ve been losing some games we shouldn’t. People need something to blame, which has largely been the refs and the bench (sometimes the bench has been an issue with Jamal out obviously, but even in games the bench is fine people love to scapegoat them).

Curious where they rank in drives, i’d imagine those are more correlated to getting to the line than just any paint bucket scored. An uncontested layup counts as points in the paint, might want to look at how they’re scoring in the paint rather than just the numbers.

The explanation is easy: Point-center style of play problems.

Things are different when you have ball handling guards slashing and driving in the paint. They’re going to draw more fouls.

How do you call a foul on Jokic’s defender when he’s lowering his shoulder directly into the defender’s chest? it’s a different style of play that is officiated differently.
