Hi all!

Just interested in getting to know what routines look like for entrepreneurs outside of work and if they attribute some of their habits to their success. What I mean by this is, some people swear by methods like cold showers or morning routines or waking up early vs night owls and say that this helped them achieve their goals.

Additionally what are your hobbies? Do you play and strike deals over golf/tennis at the country club like they show in the movies? Or do you just continue to do whatever you were doing before becoming a successful entrepreneur?

I’m just curious about those who have built something substantial (I’d say achieving a few million in revenue is much harder than a few hundred k which could be done through hustle and a bit of know how I’m any small business like a restaurant or spa etc), hence the >$2M request although happy to hear from anyone with insight on this.

Thanks!

Guess this question is going to find out, what successful people have in common?

Doesn’t matter if you masturbate, read, work out, are social, wake up early, eat healthy… as long you do the work and do what really moves the needle, it literally doesn’t matter what your life looks like. Obviously it helps to improve and the higher you want to go, the more it’s necessary to put things in place. But it also depends on you as a person. Some people can do 10M with easy and other people are having a hard time under the same circumstances.

But I truly think that all high achiever has gone trough some kind of trauma or are in some way broken.

Like Gary V said, if you’re happy, you won.

There is no One Formula. You have to find what motivates you, what provides you what you need.

My schedule and hobbies now are different than they were when my kids were still living at home. I have the luxury of working out out every morning and commuting by bike, all of which helps me feel great but would not have been possible when caring for kids. I’m just getting back into my favorite hobby which I won’t mention because it’s a pretty small field and would out me. But it takes time and money, which again, I am fortunate to have now.

For me, being able to regularly exercise (cardio, weights and HIIT) is a huge part of helping me feel good, as is eating fresh foods. But again, when the kids were at home, time was scarce so those things often were abbreviated. You do what you have to do to get by at the time.

I wake up sometime between 8am and 1pm, usually rushedly for a meeting.

    Work till 5pm to 8pm.

Then have some food while watching something on Netflix or YouTube.

Then keep working till 10pm/12am. Rarely, I’ll be doing something like coding until 5am.

When my SO is with me, then about 30% of the time, maybe around 5pm we will go to the city, explore, go to events, watch some live performance, have dinner somewhere nice, have drinks.

Not at $2M, but around $1.5M net worth.

2-3 hours of deep work each day, rest of the day is reading, playing COD, learning about cooking lately and seeing friends + family.

I don’t subscribe to hustle porn, I try to delegate everything I don’t enjoy doing or I’m not good at. I could probably make more money by ‘working much harder’ but not optimizing for that.

    Good luck!

Edit: No morning routine other than coffee lol

i time block religiously, and ensure that all my counterparts have access to my calendar/ booking link, if its not scheduled, its de-prioritised. (this includes personal and family time)

i workout 4 days a week, fri, sat, sun, mon, evenings - what that combo, its rare that on both a friday and a monday there’s over time, so it ensures i get at least 3 work outs a week. split is 2 days heavy lifting (deadlift, squat, bench, shoulder press) 2 days CrossFit.

i paint (also in a small field someone else mentioned) in the evenings for about 1 hour, whilst having youtube/podcasts going to clear the brain before sleep.

i have 30min before meeting starts to prep and align in the morning whilst drinking coffee, i skip breakfast and will eat a later lunch to fit with a intermittent fasting diet.

when i shower i start with hot shower, end with cold (wimhoff)

That sounds great. I also find that I get extremely busy between commitments and all else so that calendar idea is genius. Digging the usage of the wimhoff method for the shower good to see someone on here is using one of these things (although appears to be the minority)

Oh the wimhoff isn’t for anything more than cold tolerance; just like the fasting isn’t for anything more thank losing weight.
