Been saying that this might be his year for DPOY. The only problem is Rudy is anchoring an ungodly defense in Minnesota right now.

Granted, I’m biased, but Bam is arguably the best in the league at guarding bigs. Even against the Nuggets in finals, Jokic shot noticeably worse when he went against Bam than with any other player. I mean, obviously, Jokic came out on top in the end, but Bam definitely gave him more trouble than most.

And he’ll still never win DPOY because he’s not flashy. 2 years ago it was a “games played”. Last year, despite playing nearly 800 more minutes than JJJ (50% more minutes) it was because JJJ was a blocking god. It’s hard for me to say the 2 previous DPOY didn’t deserve it but it certainly feels unfair. Especially since JJJ wasn’t exactly 1.5 times the defender bam was. If someone gives you 90% of the production but can do it for 1.5 times as many minutes, I think you take that person over the person who played somewhat better in the significantly fewer minutes they did play

Sample size of 12 and 17.

Come on man lol this is meaningless. Buddy Hield’s at 18.2% on isos on a similar sample size. Bam’s elite on defence but come on
