Hi all, so I’ve somewhat recently started a clothing brand TATYAXVERSE at tatyaxverse.co.uk my problem is I’m getting an okay amount of traffic around 30 people a day for a month or so but no sales.

So I would like to ask if there is something I am doing wrong or missing something? Some constructive criticism would be really appreciated!

Is it targeted traffic? Is it bots? Something could be putting customers off but 1 sale in 100 views isnt that bad so maybe you havent had enough customers. Personally without seeing anything the name is not appealing to me. It could be website pricing branding imaging and only way to find out is to do a test audience for feedback.

Both organic and targeted ad. I have heard the name comment a few times, is there anything specific you dont like about it?

I just dont know how to pronounce it correctly or what it means. What sort of brand image it has. Now im most likely not a targeted group so doesnt mean its a bad thing. Your target audience may get it straight away who knows but youl need to do surveys and get feedback which is another can of worms.

Yeah thats a good idea and constructive rather than “I dont like it”. I’m at a cross road as the name has meaning behind but its just pronounced tatyaverse
TATYA - the artist that you are

Can you share with us WHY you think that your target audience should be emotionally charged by your offerings?

Be specific. You know your target audience.

What gets them excited and motivated?

Think like a “cult leader” or a “pirate.”

If you can trigger emotions then maybe you want to move on to something else.

I want them to be excited about the monochrome minimalistic designs which generally is the case for skate and street wear brands in my findings the designs are either all or nothing. I could try invoke emotion with more aesthetic imagery. I wouldnt know how to do that in words.

If you’re getting traffic but no sales in general that’s usually a design/branding problem.

Your brand is a little weird. To be honest.

What is a tatyax? It doesn’t mean anything it’s just a bunch of jarbled letters that happen to form a word

Good branding is like a good joke. If you have to explain a joke it’s not funny. If you have to explain your brand it’s not effective.

It doesn’t matter what it means to you it matters what your brand means to other people.

It can be the tiniest thing that puts people off.

I haven’t looked at the site ( yet) but when I click the link, will I know, inside 3 seconds:

Who you are What you sell And how you are going to make me happy?

    We’ll see…

Will take this into account and have a play around with the site. Also I placed a fake order a few days ago and it went through but only added google pay and apple pay yesterday, was it one of these two that failed? Really important you have pointed this out thank you!

It was credit/debit card rather than Paypal. I think the site message was “Payment gateway unavailable” or words to that effect.

Having learned the hard way I make sure we put a real live order ( you can void the payment afterwards ) on all our sites after every single code or site change. However trivial.

Always do a real order with a real card and not a sandbox test. There is nothing worse than getting to 4pm and realising you’ve not had a single order all day when there should have been a stack of packages to go by then. That hurts.

I have placed a real order and went through but am investigating what I can and have sent a few emails to see what went wrong. I am hoping this is not the reason for many lot sales. I have DMd you with a coupon if you were genuinely interested in the hat :)

The website and products look pretty solid to me. Do you do any retargeting? People often don’t buy on first visit. Also promotions are obviously great for conversion. Pretty much every store has been running sales all month for black friday.

I’d try some ‘limited time’ offers, push harder to collect contact info from site visitors(sign up for 10% off first order or something) then automate some email marketing and re-target through social media etc. Good luck!

Yes have played around with the ads we have been running and slowly cutting down the cpc of meta ads to around 18p. I will add some incentive to sign up and look into black friday deals. Thank you for advice

This was a fear of mine as there is meaning behind the name which is in the about section, but of course 99% of people wont get to that if they dont like the name.

I think it’s more of an issue with the domain than the actual brand itself. When read as the letters all together, it feels like one of those Amazon brands that sell generic products without a pronounceable name.

It’s likely less of an issue for the clothing itself, although your designs without the prominent brand name are more appealing to me personally.

hi I sell hoodie designs - I looked at the site (note these are my 5 mins views)

monochrome i.e. mimimalist is okay - but the visuals on the site have to pop – maybe shift the background because on the home page on a pc its fuzzy so on a phone?

Brand name vs name on merchandise - ?

are you getting the customers because of ad spending? or are they “finding” you?

Fashion is very fickle. Look at the detail of the traffic, how long do the spend time on site How many pages of product do they browse Do they put stuff in cart When they look at a product page how long do they spend on the product page, do they click on the pictures select sizes or any other actions that indicate interest When they check out is there a particular step where they exit - maybe you don’t have enough payment options for example

Around a minute is average and only one product page, I dont think I have a way of checking if carts are abandoned without an email attached. They normally exit on the shop page, we have paypal visa apple pay google pay looking to get klarna

Sorry to say this but this is one of the most common rookie mistakes. The market is oversaturated with clothing brands that have captured the market. When launching a business you need to first do actual market research - any decisions that purely come from “your heart” will cloud your business development. Was this something based on empirical data? What’s the value you are creating? Branding is something that is the very last step of a business cycle - you can’t start with a brand and expect it will sell itself since it is a no-name business! Reading the comments, most people don’t even like the name and yet you already invested in clothing with that label.

Unless you get some viral celebrities to promote this you’re playing against all odds.

Fail fast and find a game with odds in your favor. Best of luck with that.

The clothing looks like relatively amateur cheap prints on low-cost shirts and hats. There’s no conceptual hook. None of the individual product listings have models showing your clothes in a context that is cool at all. I would not buy any of this.

For starters, I would recommend starting by building authority. People typically buy when they’re convinced of the authority and trust worthiness of the seller. For this purpose, you need to add testimonials (in a soft selling way). Secondly, make your contact details as visible as possible. Right now, it’s sitting somewhere at the bottom of your page. That can easily be missed. If there’s an option to directly call or text (something which is easily visible), I’m sure users will reach out to clear their apprehensions. Thirdly, and this is a personal recommendation, try to sell also sell on something like an Amazon. This is a dead investment, but you’re doing it only to build credibility. Chances are that people may visit Amazon, but you can charge lesser on your website (as you naturally will) to get them to convert on the site itself. Fourthly, make your brand very socially visible. Handles to all platforms where you’re posting regularly is bible in today’s age. Again, for the purpose of credibility. Fifthly, see if you can get a google location to enroll for a google business profile. Again, for credibility. If they know there’s a physical place that they can ultimately go to in case of any problems, they’re more than sure to buy the product from you.
