KD is shooting a career and NBA season best of 52.2%!

Next highest is Isaiah Joe from OKC at 51.8%

What the hell. And this guy is from a guy being doubled and triple teamed shooting fadeaway 3s with a defender all over him.

Hes really going to go from the best midrange scorer in the NBA to best three point scorer at this rate.

Honestly it usually comes as a counterjerk to Durant. He got it with Steph/Harden and last year it was Booker. Initially in every thread giving those guys praise folks had to add in something along the lines of “By GSW/BKN/PHX’s best player”

It’s being flipped now but that’s how it started.

Tbh, it was just like this but much worse and in reverse in the playoffs last year. They’re both great and either can be the best for any game or stretch of games.

Cringe comment. KD wasn’t winning shit without Book on this team and that’s still the case, they’re 14-1 together in the regular season

That should be the case when playing against healthier playoff teams while your team is missing 2 supermax players and for the 3 games Beal played he wasn’t good, not close to all-star level. Apart from the one loss to the Spurs since the 2nd one came with Booker, every loss in that stretch were to playoff teams healthier than the Suns

Nikola Jokic without Murray hasn’t won shit in past years and is below .500 without him for 8 games this season, and that’s with only one supermax missing instead of the two the Suns were missing for 5 games before the 3 games with a hampered restricted Beal.

Shocking that having a second healthy star helps the team a lot because it’s not only about their production but also that it slots all the role players down a spot and into their actual proper roles. Murray isn’t the best nor most important player for Denver but without him and only Jokic they’re still mid and not winning shit

There may never have been a season in the last decade where he wasn’t the best scorer in the NBA, well, when he was off the court with injury discounted. Midrange, plus 3 ball, plus free throw - unstoppable

Miami LeBron, 2016 Curry. 2018-2020 Harden and 2021-present Jokic both have good arguments, too. Giannis and Embiid aren’t crazy choices, either

Kd as a scorer betted than Miami LeBron (Miami LeBron a better overall player obviously) 2016 curry agreed, Gianni’s and embiid don’t have as much diversity as KD. Jokic as well. He’s more efficient inside the arc, outside he isn’t as reliable.

KD as an Individual Pure scorer is at worst Top 2 (only short of or Tied with MJ). But Curry or Jokic are better offensive players overall because their ability to create for others far exceeds KD. (Jokic with his passing and Curry’s gravity being able to affect the entire offensive system)

I don’t think it matters if you’re not as versatile. Jokic may not be as good of a 3-point shooter in the regular season as KD, but he is ludicrously effective from everywhere inside the arc. He is an incredible shot creator, a guy who can reliably generate extremely efficient shots. He was +10, +12 rTS last season, that’s completely absurd. He’s just as unstoppable as KD, just in a different way.

Yeah man, KD is such an unstoppable scorer that he has all those playoff games where he just doesn’t score in the 4th quarter when his team needs points. Who can forget those games vs Boston where he couldn’t score for his life vs Tatum? Remember him getting clamped by Kawhi/Powell/Russ in the playoffs? Or getting clamped by Aaron Gordon? Or being unable to score in 2016 vs the warriors late in the game?

Yeah this guy is so unstoppable!

You are getting downvoted, but it’s true - he’s a generational talent, but he can be, and has been, stopped just like any other great player.

When you watch the shots he ends up taking from 3 it’s even more impressive. He has a hand in his face most of the time, someone else sprinting closing out to help and it’s from literally every spot around the arc over the course of the game. Off the dribble half the time. Smoothest gathers you’ve ever seen.

I swear most of his misses are late clock heaves

It feels like with all the advanced analytics in sports, things like hail mary passes and half+ court heaves should be separated from normal stats to get a more accurate picture of things. It feels like QB stats could be headed that way with drops sometime soon.

Yeah give KD an entire offensive system built around him shooting 3s, let him take all of stephs shots at that volume, and have 4 guys protecting him so he doesnt have to carry any of the defesive load, and we’ll see who makes the most shots. What KD does on the court is amazing. Its not all about highlights and doing dances after making 3s

So KD is a better shooter than Steph Curry because of a hypothetical scenario where KD doesn’t play like KD. That’s a honestly a really convincing argument, that’s how life works

I agree with you though, it’s so easy to shoot 42% - 45% 3pt on 10-13 attempts a game I don’t know why KD just didn’t think of doing this all along, is he stupid? Being a 6’10 forward, he would fit seamlessly in Steph’s role as a 6’3 guard who constantly moves on the floor getting those shots. Also an excellent point

But curry still the best 3 point shooter
