It really depends. The main point here is that you should play around with the variables. If you sell something for younger folk, your best bet is to advertise on TikTok, Instagram, etc.; if it’s for older people, try Facebook, YouTube, Google, etc. If you want to target more specific demographics, you have to experiment with different platforms and methods. Once you settle on a platform(s) to advertise on, then focus on the minuscule details. Look at advertisements that people like and think about what makes the audience enjoy them. It will take time. This is how people become “effective”. A good start is to look at where other people in the industry advertise. They usually have tested multiple platforms and have settled on theirs for a reason.

I mean there’s a million different things that goes into whether a certain advertising /marketing strategy will work or not for your business.

That’s why I think it’s best to test everything that may work for your business and unless your inventing the wheel see what your competitors do and copy that in every way you could think of. I think just trying a lot of different things eventually 1 will stick if you work hard enough

Social ads like meta still (mostly) work but are so expensive it’s not sustainable. Need to completely change our approach.

It depends on to whom do we advertise? One of our clients is an olive oil business, so we won’t run their ads on Snapchat. The other client is a home decor online store, so in their case, LinkedIn wouldn’t be the ideal marketing platform.

The point is, specify your ICP as finely as possible and only then think about advertising. It’ll at least make the process easier.

Word of mouth offline works fine for me.

Business is about relationships so the more hands you shake-the money you make without needing to do the extra stuff that people try to force onto others online.

Join networking groups in your area as well…

It’s extremely important to network offline in your area especially if you are a Real Entrepreneur but to each their own…

If you want to network online then check out joinEntre.

joinEntre is a site for Investors, Freelancers and Entrepreneurs.

    Best to you

Psychographics allow you to understand your target audience attitude & activities, interests & hobbies, opinions, personalities & values and lifestyle. It also provides you with information about what platform your users are active on, their pain points and linguistic. This information can help you create a more effect marketing plan.

I would also review your unique value proposition.

What ads have you tried? Did you run them yourself? Are you an expert in running those ads? Are you using the right adnetwork for your products? What resukts are you getting?
