Many teams are currently in their window (Bucks, Celtics, Suns, Sixers, Nuggets, etc). Who are the teams that are still 2-3 years away, but will be championship juggernauts for years to come?

Are kings too old already? They’d be my pick without thinking about it too much

No, but they haven’t necessarily improved this year while the league has. They also weren’t considered true championship contenders last year by most analysts despite their offensive force

Y’all realize this is only the second year of this group being together, right? Look at the patience the Nuggets had with the Jokic/Murray crew.

I really am not sure a team can actually contend with Sabonis at center. Some people said a team with a center as bad at defense as Jokic couldn’t contend, and we all saw how those takes turned out. So maybe my take on Sabonis will turn out the same.

Apparently the Kings can’t win with Sabonis’ style but Jokic and Sengun are cheat codes 🤷

People just listen to what the media says about Sabonis being flawed without actually watching his games. There’s a narrative that he’s not good enough. He is the second best big in the west. He dominates matchups consistently, and is a walking double double, often getting near double digit assists as well. He played most of last year and the playoffs injured and didn’t struggle until the very end. He had two average games this year so far, and every other game he’s been awesome. People just listen to the media without watching the games.

Having said that, the kings are a couple pieces away from being a “perennial” deep playoff threat, and idk about championship contender at all. If it’s gonna happen, we need another star who can defend.

We would have gone to the WCF last year if the refs didn’t try to setup their Lebron/Curry matchup. Would have gotten blown off the court by the Nuggets but the narrative would be totally different right now. It’s hard to see it playing out that way this year, many teams have improved and the playoffs will look different. Just hoping we make it again.
