Two, the flaw in that line of thinking is that obviously annual pay doesn’t equate to JUST your effect on the field, there are other factors like how it’s generally safer to invest in an edge guy because they can come back from injury easier, you lose a step at corner and your CAREER might be over. Same in the draft, they don’t just draft edge because of its importance, they draft them because they’re easier to scout and they are a WAY safer pick. I would do the same thing at the top of the draft.
