There’s a fine line though, there’s a reason refs call more strictly nowadays. You don’t want people going in for hard revenge tackles because of a non call or escalate how chippy a game is until someone gets hurt
Thats the whole point imo, nowadays its all about who is better technically or who runs the most. The element of a warzone for 90 minutes is gone, this has resulted in less teams like Vinnie Jones’ Wimbledon. You gotta fucking die for 3 points
