This organization desperately needs an overhaul. for such critical infrastructure we’ve seen barely any capacity improvements in decades and it’s become totally unreliable, even for popular routes like Van-Vic.
Google “public private partnership”, and rejoice knowing the CEO of a highway system is fine.
You see, it’s more efficient to throw huge amounts of money at companies so they maybe run a public service. You can’t just have the government do it, that’s too much bureaucracy. Instead you need to add a whole nother private bureaucracy on top of that. If it more effective at meeting goals, no. Does it let my friends pocket a shit ton of taxpayer money while at the same time wining about how wasteful government spending is, yes. Very yes.
The only partnership involved is government being able to wash their hands of the entire issue.
