Paolo Bachero is shooting 45% from 3 pt on 3 attempts per game and 66% from free throws at 6 attempts per game. How can you shoot 3 pointers like steph curry and free throws like ben simmons?

Career 39% shooter from 3 and 57% from the line. The craziest shooting anomaly for sure

There was this dude in early 2000s in Serbian league … Milosavljevic I believe was his surname, played for FMP team.

Dude was Steph before Steph and even better (shorter europe 3). He was overall ~60% from 3, it was automatic shit, opposing teams were already counting it’s in if he somehow shoots it. Unreal 3pt shooter

He was less than 60% from free throw. People were joking that he should take his ft from 3pt line.

My theory - some people find the feeling of the certain distance. From that distance it makes sense for them, everything else breaks down in their heads/muscles.

I think the reason for this is probably mental. Shooting in rhythm from 3 is much less stress mentally then standing there with the ball in your hands with everyone just staring at you to take a free throw. Gives you time to think about it as opposed to taking a 3 during the game where you just kind of react.

yeah deffo, there’s random spots where it just feels easier than others. maybe it’s because you’ve practiced more from there without noticing, maybe its some genetic thing, i dunno. that said its obviously not super usual for someone’s ideal spot to be behind the three point line lol

Yea it can even be the same distance from the basket, but different spots on the court, & still have vastly different accuracy %. I can drain buckets from the corners but throw up absolute bricks when shooting from the top of the key

I actually managed to find the dude, it was my mistake, it’s Vukosavljevic

          Dejan Vukosavljevic

It’s the 97 generation (Bulatovic, Silobad, Vesa Petrovic, etc) that managed to go 2nd national

Unfortunately there are no stats for his games, but I can guarantee he was the OG “imma shoot the 3 instead of lay-up” guy

These are stats from his tenure in Opava 2001-2003, Czech NBL league, where he played total of 90 games in a span of 3 years, while already being 36 years old, with 2.5/6.4 per game total, on a 40% 3pt shooting.

Guy was the youngest pro at the time (in freakin 80s) that played first pro game at age of 14, for Borac Cacak, in a Yugoslavia that at the time was 2nd to NBA in quality (time of Partizan, jugoplastika)

I will try to find FMP stats but let’s just presume that those were different times, and playing in your 36y is not as it is today and you may be in a serious decline … ?

Tbf if I recall correctly he was pretty terrible from three if it wasn’t a corner three
