    Hear me out:

Wemby is like 12 foot tall.

3-pt shots are the LAST thing he should be worrying about right now.

Sure. I get it. Him swishing threes makes for great highlights and further enhances the conspiracies that he’s an alien.

He’s not swishing threes, though. He’s literally the worst 3-pt shooter in the league at his rate of 3-pt shooting.

I don’t think it’s a problem long-term. The Spurs are tanking and not trying to win this season and next. Wemby might as well get some three-point reps in.

He has a bad habit of chucking when he’s gassed, I think. Obviously he’s bad from 3 but if he let’s it come to him, in time he’ll get better.

I honestly think Pop’s system is stunting his game a little bit coz all of his brilliant flashes were at the beginning of the season

Don’t have the data from last night’s game yet, but his efficiency is really just a product of his scenario. He’s a big man playing without a PG most of the time, and stuck next to another C the rest of the time.

When Tre Jones is on the floor, Wemby averages 27ppg/36 on 61%TS

Further refining that to when Tre is on the floor and he gets to play Center? 37ppg/36 on 66%TS

He’s been a dominant scoring force when the Spurs actually put him in a proper position.

Yeah we need to play him as a center imo. Don’t care about the physicality, he will learn that over time. He has the height. Centers can try to muscle him out but if he can get close just pass it to him and turn around, it’s unblockable

Some of these top lotto picks shoot the ball like players did before they invented the jump shot.

He shots selection pretty bad but im 90% certain the spurs just tell him go figure out what you can do and show us what you can do pop said game 20 is when major changes are gonna happen so hopefully 4 more games and then that shot selection should be a bit more Normal. He’s mechanics look pretty good and he looks comfortable shooting from way past the line. Just needs to iron out shot selection but that will probably come with time

I know I sound like I’m coming in on the uncle time travel machine from 1974, but you don’t want your insanely tall, long center out there shooting 3s. It’s a gift to the defense because it takes away the rim pressure and takes away the offensive rebounding he brings. Plus it creates space for 3 point shooters because defenders suck into the lane.

His gravity is like anti-steph, it sucks everybody into the paint, which can be used.

He’s 8 feet tall, the Dubs can’t guard big men for shit, and he’s out there taking threes. I don’t know why Pop doesn’t just get the ball to him in the paint
