The Grizzlies went on an 11-3 run coming out of this timeout, so I think he succeeded in firing them up to some extent. But it was too little, too late.
I like Smart but the fact is he just isn’t good enough to be treating other guys like this.
I guarantee if someone else calls him out on his bullshit late game shot attempts like this he freaks the fuck out.
Doesn’t matter sometimes though, leadership isn’t always going to show up in the stat sheet. These young guys need a guy like this to light a fire sometimes.
I mean are any of them as successful as he is? They can argue more talented but none of them have gone to the heights Marcus Smart has. It may not be HOF but none of them, not even Ja Morant, has gotten as far Marcus Smart.
Smart is a roleplayer though and he played with a superstar and another all NBA guy lol.
