Between the polarity in penalties being called and seemingly preferential treatment towards/against a marketable team or player, the game is becoming a boxed-in popularity contest.
Absolutely embarrassing right now.
My dad said the same thing about penalties and player favoritism decades ago when I was a kid and now I’ll say the same things to my kid.
Really, cuz for me it’s been less boring and more unfathomably depressing
They just haven’t had a game as captivating as Michigan Ohio
It would really help if the NFL ruled that you can’t fire a coach midway through a season save for exceptional circumstances. Then, you might actually feel like a team is turning things around rather than a coach winning an unlikely game to save his job in the immediate future.
Opinion - fan bias towards calls is way bigger than ref bias
How could the NFL do this to u/RedHotChiliPotatoes??
Counter-point: No.
Ok
Bro is so conditioned to the lions sucking that he hates it the one season they’re good
Ok
Yeah fuck us defense lovers.
not as boring as this post
There’s no preferential treatment except towards offenses as a whole. The nfl refs just aren’t that good. They fuck up quite a bit.
The nfl doesn’t have to do preferential treatment to stars and popular teams. You’re lucky your not an nba fan. The nba legitimately will help out a popular team aka the lakers to make sure they get in the playoffs.
That’s cool.
Nice blog post man
