Trying to upgrade the storage on my Dell Poweredge R720 using these instructions https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000116592/how-reconfigure-a-virtual-disk-or-add-additional-hard-drives and when I choose the “device settings” it hangs on the gathering configuration page, for like an hour. It’s not working. Anyone experience this or have any clues on how to over come it. Thanks.

I work with 720’s on a regular basis. I’ve not seen this particular issue, but I would look at the logs first, then look to see if there is a bios update available. Can you go in through iDRAC and see if those vdisks are there, or if it throws an error as well?
Possibility your RAID card was flashed to IT mode/with LSI firmware?
The RAID utility won’t work if it’s not running Dell firmware.
Do you know how to verify this?
