I feel like many teams’ fans complain their playcallers are calling way too many screen passes. So I was wondering who has the right to complain the most.
Bengals had a ton to start because Burrow couldn’t move with the calf. Was basically a running play for a bit.
As a Colt’s fan, I love screen passes.
They are basically a run play but you are giving it to your WR.
Unfortunately, screen passes aren’t officially tracked.
Respect but also…R made me want to die in my biostats class
Why stop there? R can make you feel like that way past college!
Coincidentally my brother is finishing a GIS degree so we commiserated about R over thanksgiving. The trauma is alive and well!
This is awesome. I wonder how different the rates would look based on n_passingplays.
Good question! Re-ran it to only include pass plays:

The Bears ran 13-15 (varying reports) on Monday night alone. I find it hard to believe they only ran 25 more throughout the other 11 weeks of football.
Thank you!
It’s so interesting that everyone feels really strongly that the Bears would be at the top of the list. As a Jags fan, did you imagine the Jags being at the top of the list?
Russell Wilson, Tua, joe burrow, mahomes, and Mac jones are the top 5 in % of their passes thrown behind the line of scrimmage
Wilson, Tua, and Mahomes have good schemes that take advantage of it though…they all have 4, 4 and 5 TDs on passes that are thrown behind the LOS
Someone like PFF or Football Outsiders probably has those stats but you’d have to have a subscription.
Chicago without a doubt. 2 times this year, to the best of my knowledge that Luke getsy Chicago bears oc called three screen passes in a row on a drive. Please post with results, I’m genuinely curious how big the margin is for the bears compared to the rest of the league
Here’s my reply to the OP in another comment below:

In short, not Chicago. It’s actually us Jags (lol)
Beyoncé had one of the best music videos of all time
Im pretty sure tonight we called 3 screen plays in a row. And we ended up punting. Crazy I know.
Bears. After us Chargers.
Should be a crime to call that many screens with cannon arm QBs.
Didn’t we see too many of them on MNF?
It’s been irritating for me. Sometimes they are checkdowns, but there are a lot of times where we run it up the middle for 2 yards on first down, call a pass that is 3 yards behind the line of scrimmage on second down and lose a yard, and boom. 3rd & long over and over and over again. Thankfully we have a competent and clutch QB who’s found ways to convert those but we end up in those situations way too often
