    Russ FT%

    Years 1-9: .823

    Years 10-12: .718

    Years 13-16: .658

It’s absolutely wild how he could demonstrate elite ability at a skill for so long and then it just vanishes.

This season he is under 60%, he is getting even worse.

It is all those hand injuries. Broke his hand in 2014 and has had multiple hand surgeries since. Dude has had multiple dislocated fingers, torn ligaments, jammed his fingers and played through it all. He fumbles the ball a lot more nowadays as well.

League also screwed over his free throw routine by not allowing him to walk past the three point line anymore. Not saying it’s the reason he’s bad from the line now, but it certainly didn’t help.

This clip is almost kinda sad with that context. At least he made millions upon millions playing a child’s game…I know plenty of people with broken down bodies that got paid a fraction of what he did doing work that goes beyond pure entertainment.

Thank you for providing context. I can’t stand him due to his fan treatment, but he is also an awesome maniac out there. Context is appropriate

the change of rules somehow mentally fucked him up super hard, before between each FT he was allowed to walk from the strip back to the halfcourt line to take a breather. Now rules state you have to stand for the next FT attempt.
