So Poole couldn’t play a better role for the Wizards right now. If we’re going to tank, he’s perfect. Some on our sub brought up how he should just go from tanking team to tanking team for the rest of his career. That would honestly be a win/win for everyone I feel like, but it got me thinking - what player often played a big role on tanking teams in their career? I watch a lot of the NBA but no one is coming to mind (it’s 5:00 a.m. though). Any thoughts on who was the best all-time tanking team leader?
Michael Carter-Williams. Kicked off the Process Sixers then bounced around multiple bad teams - Hornets, Rockets, Magic. Has made the playoffs 3x in his career but only one of those playoff teams was over .500 (they were 42-40).
Later MCW played too hard and too much defense to be considered a good tank commander.
