Wilforks problem is they have his position mislabeled. While he was a serviceable DT his primary position was nose tackle. This may seem small but it’s significant because they have entirely different stat expectations. A nose isn’t meant to rack up tackles or sacks, his job is to stuff up the center of the line and free up linebackers to make plays. Not only is he the best to ever do this, he did it while also having highlight reel plays like the butt fumble. Dude weighed close to 400 lbs and could dunk. It is a crime he wasn’t put in on the first ballet and unforgivable that we are on year four waiting for that call

Can’t wait to hear the annual Reddit discourse of how most of these elite athletes in the upper 1% of all players who have ever gone pro don’t even deserve to be considered for Canton.

Anywho, if I was on the committee and could vote for nine of these fellas, my votes would go:

    1. Julius Peppers- He’s gonna be first ballot.

    2. Antonio Gates- If he’s not first ballot, what are we doing?

    3. Torry Holt- He’s been a semifinalist ten times, just let him in already!

    4. Darren Woodson- It’s his last year of eligibility before going to the senior ballot, and he was such an important part of the Dallas dynasty.

    5. Steve Smith- Probably should have been first ballot last year.

    6. Fred Taylor- He’s the best eligible RB not in the Hall, and Canton doesn’t have to worry about the salary cap.

    7. Devin Hester- The Hall should recognize at least one player from every part of the game, and Hester is unquestionably the best returner we have/will ever see.

    8. James Harrison- He will not go into the Hall because he’s an a-hole who pissed off too many people, but he was an absolute menace and is responsible for the most important play in Super Bowl history (sorry, David Tyree).

    9. Hines Ward- Also will not go in, and maybe shouldn’t go in, but he’s way higher on a lot of stat sheets than most seemingly want to acknowledge, has that Super Bowl MVP, and made the NFL change its blocking rules.

Fred Taylor is not the best eligible RB not in the HOF, he just has the most rushing yards of any RB not in the HOF. The two best eligible RB’s, Shaun Alexander & Priest Holmes, aren’t even on this list.

Reggie Wayne & Andre Johnson were both better than the three WR’s you list.

James Harrison’s INT was not the most important play in Super Bowl history. It is probably the best play, but definitely not the most important.

Reggie Wayne needs to get in before Smith or Ward and Andre Johnson should be over Hines Ward as well.

Does Rodney get in this year? The only thing holding him back is his reputation imo. He has all the stats you could ask for to make it in

Harrisons pass coverage numbers and low number of accolades are probably holding him back more than his rep. There’s a lot of competition among defensive backs, and there are a few with stronger resumes at safety who haven’t made it in yet.

Is the Pro Football Hall of fame ever gonna accept that it’s a passing league in the last 25 years

Torry Holy, Reggie Wayne, Steve Smith, and Andre Johnson all should’ve been in over Edgerrin James

Edgerrin James was inducted before Smith and Johnson were eligible - and the same year as Wayne’s first year of eligibility

Running backs have shorter shelf lives and edgerinn at his peak was better than all of them. Edge at his peak was doing shit only like a handful of running backs ever did

Jahri Evans won’t get in this year, but he better get in eventually. Most dominant guard of his era and helped keep Brees clean for some of the most explosive offensive seasons of all time. He’s got the accolades and the metrics for the HOF.

Man, Peppers was so good. A total force. 6’7, 300 lbs. Just an absolute monster of a human being.
