Do the teams in the knockout round play against each other an extra time this season than they normally would or do the knockout round games replace games they would play against each other later in the season?

    IIRC they left some dates on the schedule open with unscheduled games so that after determining who would move on in the tournament, they could schedule the matchups on those days. I think it’s Dec 3/4

    i believe the bucks/knicks, pacers/celtics, lakers/suns, and kings/pelicans all play each other 5 times this season because it’d be hard to replace games a quarter into the season due to a whole bunch of other shuffling and different time zones around the league.
