James Harden back to his old self tonight, as the Clippers are starting to work things out. Kawhi had a great game with 34 points, 9 rebs, 14-18 FG. Westbrook with 19 minutes off the bench, had 2-6 FG.

He still is capable of having great games every now and then, as most former stars are. It’s why he dropped 40 twice against the Celtics in the playoffs last year. The issue with him is surviving all the other games where he isn’t on, like the other 5 games in that Boston series where he only shot 25% from the field and 15% from 3.

It’s just too bad this kind of thread sinks into the mud where the one by that mutant Mavs announcer spewing garbage goes to r/all.

that one legitimately riled me up. i don’t care if someone dislikes Harden, but that “speech” and the accompanying thread full of comments like “wowza this guy spit all facts” was so mind-numbingly stupid. that guy just ripped half-truth after half-truth (provably so) and tons of people creamed themselves over how “objective” he was in presenting the situation accurately.

i hated Harden in the Houston days but he’s probably my favorite non-Spurs player now. he’s just a really good player and by all accounts a great dude off the court. it’s hilarious how all of his detractors have to rely on outdated or completely invented narratives to justify their dislike of him.

The sides of our fanbase that hates Russ and the side of our fanbase that hates Harden are a good dichotomy for all basketball debates on reddit ever and tell us a lot about the true Nihilism of human condition in the internet age.
