Hello, as the titles says i will go on a little 5 day trip in slovakia and my lens for traveling just broke. I have a canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 L IS USM that is stuck on the wide apertures . At 28, stuck at f/3.5 and at 300 stuck at f/5.6 . If i try to change those i will get error 01. The IS is working , the autofocus is working. My question is , in your personal experience, how hard is to go on use this lens for landscape at open apertures? I do not have time and budget to fix the lens now so i will probably go along with it.

Any tips to do better in this conditions? Any help is welcomed. Thank you all !

I would bring another lens if you have one. Your shots will hit and miss and you’ll be constantly frustrated.

You will be outside of your comfort zone with a different lens, but that is where the magic happens.

Regarding your actual question, I have no idea. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Did you try it on a different camera?

Had a similar issue with one of my lenses and in the end it turned out my camera was having an issue with the connecting to the lens. Putting the lens on a different body to modify the setting there and using a differentialen on my camera cleared the issue.
