Bananas are harvested green to allow for long-distance transportation without spoilage. Upon arrival at their destination, they are often placed in specialized ripening rooms where controlled amounts of ethylene gas are introduced. This commercial application of ethylene ensures uniform ripening, allowing distributors to provide consistently ripe fruit to markets.
maybe the sticker got on before the gassing
oxygen is also part of the enzymatic browning process, the sticker limited the supply of it after ripening
It’s brown now, so I’m not sure
Peak dullness here
Soo…what they need is a big sticker that covers the whole banana… :D
Tap for spoiler
J/k I am aware of all the actual reasons for this, as outlined in the other comments ;)
I would like you to know that you’re allowed to put bananas into the fridge. Put them in a crisper drawer and they won’t go brown nearly as fast.
What’s so special about the drawer? No airflow?
Yep, or at least that’s likely.
O shit fr
Fucking liar.
… Why would I or anyone lie about this?
