I have been unable to find certain digital-only eShop releases out there in the seas, some of which I had got from Tinfoil shops years ago. I managed to find an XCI collection in the Tapochek forum, where the downloads are only for paying members, and some of said releases are there; but there are plenty of games I still couldn’t find. I can’t even find out whether they were dumped (I searched predb but some queries give 0 results).
How can we be sure all those digital-only games are dumped and safe? What if something ends up being nuked from N’s eShop? Will those dumped games ever be publicly available out there?
Just like preserving video games, since the video game companies only do it if it means to make another buck off of cheap nostalgic grab, we have to archive them.
If we don’t, then they will certainly be lost and we’ll have endless discussions of what-about their existences.
They’re still out there. The answer you’re looking for is “ziperto”
Romsmegathread has a digital eshop section
If you want to be sure, dump and archive then yourself.
There was a project to archive all the 3DS stuff when that shop went offline.
hShop? That’s still very much a thing. I put it on my kids’ 3DSXL consoles.
