I high recommend watching the video to understand the choices behind this dish. The recipe is listed as being 4 servings, but I’m not sure what they considered a single serving. The amount in the photo is only like half. So I have leftovers for days.
This dish turns gagh from the prop food of udon noodles with sauce into a stir fly with vegetables and meat.
EDIT: I forgot to link to the video. https://youtu.be/K99om0XXej8
Stir fry?! Gagh is supposed to be eaten raw!
One day in the mid 90s there were some Klingons with a table set up in the predator house of my local zoo. I think they were there promoting the local Star Trek fan club. The only detail I really remember was the “gagh” that was just gummy worms in corn syrup.
As the video points out, it has been depicted various ways (there are 50 varieties). Some in fact do look like gummy worms.
This reminds me of a contestant from the Korean show Culinary Class Wars who learned to cook by making food from various mangas.
How was it?
I enjoyed it. I previously tried making my own with noodles and sauce only. That combination can be unappetizing when you’re going for color over taste. The vegetables and meat give this a texture which is very pleasant.
Wow thanks for sharing this! I think I’ll try my hand at some of these recipes.
