I don’t see how OP can characterize it the way he did, though. I thought the critical part if their critical support was fairly mild, though I’d have gone for something even more mild.
They’re endorsing the mainstream narrative of the Iranian government being uniquely tyrannical and a dictatorship with no context, rather than a flawed government that formed under decades of imperialist siege, which is what I’d stress as an ML. They could be debunking the bs claims going around, but instead simply call it a dictatorship. Idk, it’s a lackluster statement from people who claim to be comrades.
