Our microwave kept blowing the breaker even after repairs, so I (somehow) found a perfect used one on Craigslist and replaced it today.
Surprisingly easy to remove the old one and remount it, plus I saved several hundred dollars in appliance and installation costs.

How old was the one you replaced?
8 years. Not nearly old enough, in my opinion.
I have an 8 year old Bosch microwave I got off Nextdoor a few years ago for $50. Its been pretty solid with the only thing I had to do to it was remove the inside cosmetic plastic on the door to get to the screws to tighten the handle. We had a builder grade GE microwave I didn’t like (that was 11 years old) and we sold it on Nextdoor for…$50.
My first microwave, I bought in 1985, lasted over twenty-five years, and may still be working--I foolishly gave it away because I wanted a bigger one. Every microwave since then lasts about seven years. Same for every other household appliance from what I’ve read.
Incredibly frustrating. Planned obsolescence drives me insane, which is a big reason I’ve started specifically shopping used in the last few years.
