I wish to see more of him in the series, but the series focus more on Picard and Data.
Jonathan Frakes just seems like an all-around great guy. Combine that with a well-written character, and it’s no wonder Riker is such an icon.
One of my favorite things to have learned about Johnathan Frakes, he wanted Riker to be down to fuck everyone. Sadly, he got only so much room to decide who the character was, but he understood the concept of a post religious morality society, and understood that if a sentient being wanted to have a roll in the hay with Riker that he would be down.
Which is why until Star Trek is willing to adapt my Rikcard ship fan fiction as canon I will continue to send them my over detailed OC until they cave. It’s too good, they can only say no for so long, it’s just a matter of time.
Frakes also seems to get Star Trek. Whenever I see he’s directing an episode I know it will be good.
