Which communites mods are over zealous with the ban hammer?

Which ones have bad mods?

For example:

  • No warning, just banning
  • Constantly berating people for minor rule infringement
  • Deleting posts
  • No discussion, decision is final
  • Having a different opinion

New user here. From my short experience so far: krita-artists.org deleted my account within hours for posting philosophical text outside art topics. users.rust-lang.org silenced me for “typing too fast” as a new user — for 1000 years literally (silenced_till: 3026). Discourse forums generally put new user posts in pending moderation queue that can take days.

Mastodon instances like twit.social and mastodon.world require hCaptcha at email confirmation step that blocks headless browsers. social.tchncs.de and linuxrocks.online approved my account but only linuxrocks let me post (social.tchncs still shows “pending review” and blocks UI).

So strictness scales: krita = banhammer, rust = permanent silence for bot-like behavior, Discourse = invisible queue. The most punishing are not the loud bans but the silent pending queues where you don’t even know if your post exists.

This user has such a hate boner for madthumbs, they should seek professional help.

Na. Hate boner would be making and running communities for things I don’t like. Oh wait…

But you’re picking at a person rather than the content. Really harassment. You probably have legal issues in your personal life.

You’re doing it to yourself by being nuts. Go seek professional help. Turning yourself into a lolcow is the exact opposite of that

Yes, because they are your decisions, not the contents decision.

Also you need to look up the requirements for harrassment if you think my comments have lead to any form of legal issues.

I have a hobby. It doesn’t involve personal attacks like what you’re doing. -Pretty scummy of you.

lol, caught a ban there yesterday. Thought they were a more fun bunch, but the hate there is intense. Question, as it’s like my second ban, why is it so hard to block a comm after you’ve been banned? Like, leave the block button available so we don’t need to dig deep into settings, obviously that is not a place that meshes with me, tho I thought it did cause some of that stuff was funny.

It’s just a group of angry people is all I can tell.

My post was https://lemmy.world/post/48179739 if you can access it. The community creator banned me and removed it.

No clue how the block buttons are set up. But I don’t see that community going anywhere and I don’t view the everything feed.

It’s run by someone who legitimately needs either a better hobby or psychiatric care. They spend paragraphs dissecting MEMES and claiming that “Linux” is making claims that aren’t true (as though there is some monolithic Linux marketing arm).

          It’s sad, pathetic and unhinged.

Maybe they should install Linux and start tinkering…LOL. That would keep them busy for a while.

Meta: Why is your post downvoted? Usually I understand whatever silly ideas/immature attitudes happen to be behind them but this time I’m confused. It can’t be angry mods who already feel called out, right? That would be too pathetic of them, so I don’t wanna consider it.
