Warns of control? Its long consolidated. The temple has already been sacked, the ark taken, and the name lost.
Telecommunications Act of 1996 is what really kicked media consolidation into high gear, it’s been downhill ever since.

What is old is new again.
Although Salt of the Earth received limited distribution in Western and Eastern Europe in the 1950s and won awards there, it was nearly impossible to see it in the United States. After its opening night in New York City, it languished for a decade because only thirteen theaters in the country were willing to show it.[18] Roy Brewer of the IATSE leveraged his ties with the projectionists’ union to cancel numerous bookings.[19] The American Legion threatened to picket any theater that exhibited the movie.[20] Salt of the Earth was denounced by the U.S. House of Representatives for its communist sympathies, and the FBI investigated the film’s financing, looking for evidence of foreign funds that could justify prosecution under the Foreign Agents Registration Act.[21]

The Hollywood blacklist was the mid-20th century banning of suspected Communists from working in the United States entertainment industry. The blacklist began at the onset of the Cold War and Red Scare, and affected entertainment production in Hollywood, New York, and elsewhere. Actors, screenwriters, directors, musicians, and other professionals were barred from employment based on their present or past membership in, alleged membership in, or perceived sympathy with the Communist Party USA (CPUSA), or on the basis of their refusal to assist Congressional or FBI investigations into the Party’s activities.
We saw it in sociology class.
