There’s a steam workshop mod which puts a checkpoint in all the temples, this let me beat it, the base game only that is, no challenge runs or secret bullshit, haven’t even attempted that.
I do enjoy setting everything on fire and exploding myself though. I played a fair few hours on and off.
I did not know that. I got to the final boss then stopped cuz they kept kicking my ass.
Once you’ve selected your target planet on the map (or select the planet by looking at it and pressing L3) you can then autopilot to the planet with up on the d-pad (tells you top left of the screen). Landing is a bit tricky but you can definitely just slam the ship into the ground, as the loops are short it’s not the end of the world if it gets beat up. Pressing square or x to activate the landing camera can help too.
Depending on what you’re going for, 1 and give them a German accent. Otherwise 2.
I think that’s maybe a bit harsh compared to a lot of the games mentioned here. Witcher 1 definitely has a lot of problems compared to 2 and 3 but it had a lot going for it as well. Sure the combat was broken as hell once you got all the spinning moves and it was super sexist with the women as trading cards thing. But the story and world building were still fun and Geralt was well characterised. It’s not a great game but it did well enough to get them the sequels. Definitely nowhere near the worst game I’ve played.
It’s very similar but nowhere near as good. I got it for free on playstation a while back and stopped playing it to go back and play the dead space remake again.
Yes I’m theory but it’s very difficult / unlikely to happen.
Snap I’m about to go to the innermost zone. Really enjoying it so far. The vibes are great. It’s mostly chill with some intense oh god I’m going to die moments mixed in.

Ooo, colour me intrigued. I loved the Dungeon keeper games back in the day. Are we talking spiritual successor or just invokes some of the same feelings?
I’ve spent so long on Noita, I love it and it treats me so badly. I’m really not very good at it. I’ve barely scratched the surface and largely stopped after I had a successful (basic no secrets) run. I still go back to nuke myself into oblivion every now and then. I do love setting everything on fire.
Have you tried the ps5 controller? Genuinely my favourite thing about the ps5. The adaptive triggers and the haptics are so good. The battery life feels better too. That was my biggest complaint about the 4s especially compared to the ps3s, those lasted for weeks.
I wanted to love Quantum Break so much but it was just a buggy mess on my pc, I spent hours messing with settings but it just wouldn’t run smoothly. I still managed to push through to mission 4 or so. Maybe I’ll give it another go.
I’m working my way through forbidden west as well. I’m really enjoying it. It’s always good to spend more time in an interesting game world. I really appreciate the more free form climbing system in this one, not quite breath of the wild climbing but way better than grab the yellow ledges only.
I love hearing about DF but it’s so dense that I was never able to get into it myself. Plus I struggled with the art, or lack of it on the earlier builds.
My wife was playing Ori around its release, we both got stuck on the first tree escape, where it floods. Absolutely massive difficulty spike for a relatively chill game to that point. Beautiful game though and I love the sound track.
The Wii brought gaming to the general public in a way nothing else had. Like most modern Nintendo consoles it was under powered and gimmicky but the gimmick worked so well for people new to gaming, point at the TV or wiggle the controller as you would to do the thing in real life was a huge step to making an abstract concept make sense to people. For longer gaming sessions or more “serious” games the Wii controls were generally lacking but damn if Wii sports wasn’t good fun.
I always enjoy a good story in my games. I particularly enjoyed the walking dead games. I’ve also just done a few runs of slay the princess which is a visual novel game with amazing voice acting and a romance/ existential horror plot. Quite short unless you do multiple runs but I’d definitely recommend it on sale.
That’s true, fairly easily avoided by holding the up or down trigger until you’ve got a clear line of sight to your target before engaging autopilot.
