I don’t think this team can be viable as constructed, even if you replaced Monty with a modern coach with a brain. That being said, I question the logic of how they play even as constructed. Their win condition is basically emulating the Grit and Grind Grizzlies. Instead, they shot MORE threes than the Lakers. If the goal is to be competitive, you should play to your strengths, not force a three ball meta.

My biggest issue with the team is Cade’s utilization. He’s a 6ft 7 point guard… he should be forcing awkward post ups and absolutely living at the free throw line. Maybe that’s not his game, but what’s the point of being a big floor general if you can’t body smaller defenders?

Worst coach in the league. He only gets jobs because he is a “good man,” but even that is strange. He’s a good man, why? Because his wife died? The guy certainly treated DeAndre Ayton poorly.

I thought Wemby was supposed to be a Center with guard skills. Instead, he’s basically just a volume shooter. His bread and butter should be unguardable hook shots.

Not to be a Bol Bol truther, but I’ve never seen ANY other player have the license to fail quite like Wemby. Maybe Q Rich with the Clippers.

It blows my mind how the NBA allows Giannis to play fullback, but a guy like Greg Monroe isn’t viable in the NBA because contact on non-drive post moves is not called.

I’m just calling it like I see it. Victor has that awkward jumping three where he jumps forward a couple feet. A smart “IDGAF” veteran like Draymond Green is going to accidentally place a shoe where Wemby lands to steal a win or a series. The Jordan Rules. Shaq in the paint. Teams in good faith will have to play physical ball to stop that guy.
