Rugged in what sense?
A-fuckin’-men. Or if they just provided any background information of any fucking kind!
It’s definitely a fake, but the bigger question is what kind of job do you do where someone would gift you a platinum Rolex DD?
“””Homage””” for “knockoff” is a stupid and it makes talking about real homages like a normal person difficult. Why? Just why?
I get downvoted for this all the time but it’s the damn truth. No normal person I’ve met had said that that makes sense. Call it “copy” or whatever, but a blatant knockoff is not a “homage” in any sense of the word.
I don’t think this is unique to our time. People have been complaining about their times since “times” existed
I like the ones where the person hasn’t even bothered to look much. If a person has looked, they should say so because otherwise, I have no idea what to tell them. Ditto for the gazillion stupid NATO strap threads that could be found with the simplest a search engine searches, ex.: “Reddit best NATO straps”, “watch forum best NATO straps”, etc.
Idk if it’s dominating but I can tell you that it’s definitely noticeable on brand-specific subs like r/Seiko and r/Vostok. I’ve been seeing a recent uptick on those
Yeah it’s good. Look up how to treat a mechanical watch tho. They require a little more consciousness and care than an electronic watch
You forgot the picture
There’s this version and its successor (350607 iirc), which has a date. I don’t think you can find these easily. I think you can find the army green one tho. If you want, I can send you the link where I got this one.
Fair warning: mine gains about a minute a day and has sharp edges. The bezel will be the enemy of all wood too lol

Every time I mention citizen to people who know about them, they only have positive things to say. They are pretty much all about Ecodrive though. And a lot of times it’s guy is telling me that family members have bought them their “citizen eco drive” as a gift.
A lot of good points were made in a previous thread this week about it.
Personally, I don’t have a hard stance on it, but I wouldn’t call it a hobby for myself
Yeah i agree.
One potential counterpoint that is a little interesting to me is that coin and stamp collectors seem to be considered hobbyists. Maybe it’s because the consumerism aspect isn’t quite the same or quite as there as it is with more conventional things like buying clothing, shoes, watches, jewelry, etc.
I feel like i lose interest in stuff when i feel like I’ve absorbed most of what there is out there. I’m trying to be a bit more responsible with how often i get watch stuff and enjoy what i have. I’ll probably end up shifting back to my usual stuff by next year and focus less on this stuff. we’ll see.
Victim of bad QC?
Not much money and you enjoy unique and quirky stuff.
