I dislike the entire nautilus, but agree the dial is the worst part. It’s one of the most overrated luxury watches out there IMO

What’s there to roast? This collection is a perfect reflection of it’s owner; soulless and more money than sense. 14 watches and you can’t bring yourself to not do blackface on a dozen of them, which is probably an appropriate allegory for your personal beliefs. Sorry, I shouldn’t forget the cookie cutter Casios, which are almost as obvious a beard for your horology chops as your trophy wife is for your limp-dicked masculinity. I’m surprised you had the foresight to take the plastic and tags off of them, as someone with a collection like this would never miss an opportunity to wear their “understated” Rolex or AP rather than be seen with something a commoner could afford. The only thing here that surprises me at all is that you don’t have an “inconspicuous” black dial Patek Grand Complications hiding somewhere, so you can stunt on other boring, middle aged WASPs that think their gold Daytona is more expensive than anything you have, since it’s obvious this entire hobby for you is nothing more than one more way to desperately attempt to show other people that you’re worth something. I shudder to think of how ostentatious your wife’s jewelry collection is to have allowed you to accrue a small fortune in terrible watches. I’m guessing it’ll take quite the piece for her to finally let you get that Patek, more than the usual pearl necklaces your ADs have undoubtedly been giving her up to this point anyway.
It’s fine to not like this watch, but based on a lot of the replies here you’d think a good amount of people need a digital watch to be able to tell time at all. Like how much would you realistically be off by looking at this dial? Plus or minus one minute? I honestly cannot think of a single time in my life in which I’d have been wearing a dress watch, and simultaneously not be able to read the time on a dial like this and needed to know the EXACT time.
The far more egregious flaw here is going so far with the very pretty minimalist dial, but then spitting in the face of everything the design was about because you decided you could do without indices and numbers but just could not live without the fucking awful SWISS MADE text
Ever thought about the Tudor? I love the white dial version and it’s a hell of a lot more attractive from a value standpoint
Imagine getting this bent out of shape about a comp between Rolex and Tudor, as if that’s a weird thing to happen. Are you a Rolex owner that wants all Tudor owners to know that they’re not as good as you, or are you so insecure you feel the need to pipe up with your own dogshit opinion when you don’t even have a horse in the race? Either way you don’t need to go out of your way to be a douchebag
I’ll be just as sad about Bennett’s obituary as I was about Stern’s.
Lovely watch. Haven’t seen one in person but I’m sure it’s even better.
