I think everything about the nautilus is great, the bracelet, case etc. except for the damn dial. It looks like something a child would glue together on a paper. I have never seen a dial so plain/ugly in a luxury watch like this one. The indices look terrible/ background look awful! How do you guys feel about the dial?

I dislike the entire nautilus, but agree the dial is the worst part. It’s one of the most overrated luxury watches out there IMO

What do you think of the pp perpetual calendar chronograph? I think that watch is designed very well.

I don’t love it but I don’t hate it either. If I got one for free I’d probably try it out, and if I didn’t like it I’d sell.

    It just is.

I dislike this dial but there are plenty of beautiful Nautilus dials like that on the 5711/1r. I love how the slim Nautilus references (5711 and 5712) wear on the wrist – nothing else like it!

Ah yuck, it’s the worse. If you have one you should definitely give it to me

Even Thierry Stern doesn’t understand the hype around it. It’s a decently cool watch, but not at all worth secondary market pricing.

Whole thing looks stupid. If you told me this was a $40 Invicta I wouldn’t question it.

Of all of the Patek watches this is the absolute last one I would buy.

I always associate Patek with perfection in the finishing department and this has the least visible finishing of all of their watches.

I don’t mind the dial, I have always assumed the whole watch was inspired by the Jules Verne 20,000 leagues submarine of the same name?

Thus the dial looks like the deck of a boat and the markers like indicators on a control panel of some sort (maybe?).

Either way, for me I wouldn’t buy it. Ugly watch in my opinion but I think the 70’s integrated bracelet designs were all ugly. They seem to be “in” though now so I’ll expect more companies to make more watches that look similar.

I agree. And I admire that they have kept their heritage and didn’t change for modern styles. And I really like their perpetual calendar chronograph.
