  • baseball is kind of the outlier, college basketball and football are immensely popular in the USA. that’s just american sports culture, college sports have always been a big deal for a variety of reasons. a big one for football/basketball is historically there hasn’t really been any serious academy system, so the best american players in the world were playing in college before going pro. so it’s where you go to see the players who will be the stars in the next generation.




  • it became a lot more noticeable last year.

    part of that was that our style of play changed a lot once we got KD which put him in a position he wasn’t as comfortable in - he is a very reluctant catch and shoot guy. when he’s running the PnR and getting to take his midrange pullups going right he’s more aggressive, but even on those he was looking for it less last year and his percentage on midrange jumpers dropped kind of sharply. was still good at them, in previous seasons it had pretty much been a layup though and it was just less automatic.
