They were better than they are now, got hot at the right time, and didn’t face any world beaters in the playoffs. Suns choked hard, mavs and Celtics weren’t quite ready yet. Warriors were playing well and had a massive advantage in experience.

shoutout deandre ayton. turns out he’s pretty good at finishing plays when he’s put in the position to.
When was that not the game lol
i’m ready for a lot of bickering about which team’s underwhelming center is more underwhelming

What a fucking joke
Happens all the time, some teams are crazy physical with him off-ball. The bulls game recently was a good example.
his play in phoenix has been very underrated. the way people started talking about him the last couple years is just odd considering his level of play.
Caruso did play excellent defense. One thing that has been crazy since KD has been here though is how physical teams are allowed to get with him off-ball. There were some replays on turnovers last night that I couldn’t believe weren’t called, seems like the scouting report is just to be as physical as possible with him before he gets the entry pass because that does work, and over the course of the game the refs just kind of don’t want to call every grab or shove away from the ball that would be a fouls in a lot of situations. Not anything unique to Caruso, happens in a ton of our games.
chet has shown some great stuff so far but almost feels like you would need to play him next to a more traditional 5 in matchups like this, jokic is just way too physical.
Yes a timeout was called
He absolutely did not lol
Looks like a bottled water design
yeah i get where it’s coming from but i think there’s a high chance that people are jumping the gun.
yes big NCAA regular season games have pretty good ratings. it’s not just the tournament and then everything else is ignored.
baseball is kind of the outlier, college basketball and football are immensely popular in the USA. that’s just american sports culture, college sports have always been a big deal for a variety of reasons. a big one for football/basketball is historically there hasn’t really been any serious academy system, so the best american players in the world were playing in college before going pro. so it’s where you go to see the players who will be the stars in the next generation.
lakers should be up by 70 but somehow entered into a mid-off with us.
Kyrie over Luka is insane but “ruled by European superstars” is also a bit much lol
it became a lot more noticeable last year.
part of that was that our style of play changed a lot once we got KD which put him in a position he wasn’t as comfortable in - he is a very reluctant catch and shoot guy. when he’s running the PnR and getting to take his midrange pullups going right he’s more aggressive, but even on those he was looking for it less last year and his percentage on midrange jumpers dropped kind of sharply. was still good at them, in previous seasons it had pretty much been a layup though and it was just less automatic.
booker and KD were awful, just a tough shooting game all around. nurk played great though. winning streak was nice, just hope this one didn’t come at the cost of some missed games for Book after the ankle injury.
