I accidentally started a fight under a post last night and had to double check if you were the OP haha. Engagement is engagement I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name@lemmy.world•It's about DS9 nothing else
4·17 days agoI’m a bit jealous that you get to watch it for the first time haha. Season 2 & 3 are my absolute favorites, so enjoy!

11·17 days agoFirst, I did ask twice. I haven’t edited my comments so you’re free to reread them. Secondly, I’m not sure what I did to make you think I pissed in your Cheerios. We’re on the same page. I never said you had to be Worf in this scenario as that’s completely unrealistic. I was sharing a similar show that included a multi year story line about resisting home grown fascism.
I’m sorry I didn’t pass your purity test while commenting in a science fiction community.

18·17 days agoI completely agree. His spectre will likely haunt us long after he’s gone. Hatred and spite will be his legacy as well, so we have to do what we can to eradicate those symptoms.

17·17 days agoSo should I have only responded by linking an assassination video? DS9 and B5 are closely linked for many reasons and B5 has an actual Earth v Earth conflict that mirrors our present day. I’m not sure how to respond to this comment except to ask; what did you find so lacking in my original response?

69·17 days agoI think about Earth Alliance President Clark a lot nowadays.
There’s some really poignant lines about following illegal orders. If you like DS9 and don’t like what’s happening under the current US government I implore you to watch Babylon 5.
Spoilers, and the clip hits so much harder when you’ve watched the build-up, but if you need convincing here’s a small sample about how topical this show still is.
If you really need convincing here’s one of the best speeches regarding invasion I’ve ever seen.
What games is this? Looks neat!

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•'Turns out having your game be free on Epic is great advertising for Steam sales': New Blood chief says Blood West sold 'like 200% more' the day it was a freebie on EGSEnglish
106·1 month agoSteam just works better. Their cloud save is reliable, and library organizing is actually a thing. I can see someone using the free Epic game as a sort of demo. Plus, if they really liked they game they may want to support the developer
I fell under ‘wee English fella’. I was the de facto stage manager at my high school and all the crew called me grandpa or gramps ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There was also that time I wore a turtleneck/blazer combo so even the cast was calling me Captain haha
There are a couple of ways to pronounce the letter ‘H’ that could sound like ‘age’; one that keeps a soft ‘hah’ sound before ‘aitch’ and one that drops the soft ‘hah’. Both can end up sounding similar to a cross between eight/age depending on how clearly you enunciate.
Edit; Age also has a sharper ‘tch’ sound when spoken in those accents. There are probably accents that use a softer ‘g’ sound

Games@lemmy.world•Where do you all get your (indie) gaming news from?English
14·2 months agoI’ll shill up for skill up’s website that spun up from his ‘This Week in Gaming’. He has some great coverage on indie games and always dedicates a segment to ‘put this on your radar’.
Paul Tassi from Forbes also has some really good takes and sources in the industry for those AAA games.

This and full white dev/publisher logo screens. I have a pretty large HDR monitor and whenever I boot up a Bandai Namco game I’ll flashback myself if I don’t look away in time.

That just got me diagnosed with BPD ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
