Weaver is a terrible GM. His fascination with collecting mediocre big men(Bagley, Wiseman) is odd. Bagley is fine as a decent bench big but what was the point of getting Wiseman when you have your center of the future in Duren and you have Stewart as well.

The Saddiq Bey trade was short sighted and unnecessary…overall he wasnt a world beater but wings with size that can shoot 3s are a valuable commodity

Why is Hayes starting? He is legit maybe one of the 20 worst offensive players and his defense is not DPOY level to make up for that and he isnt some high level facilitator

Also Cade isnt a #1 Luka/Harden heliocentric guard. He cant shoot that well, his finishing sucks bc he has average athleticism and no explosion…his 1st step is solid but he has no get up so he gets blocked a lot. Turnover prone as hell…also he was advertised as 6’8" when in reality he is 6’6" which makes a difference. He is a bigger Brogdon which is a damn good player but not a franchise cornerstone or a guy that can be your best player. As of now he would be a #3 on a contender. He needs to improve his 3pt shooting to get more efficient

And Monty might be a fraud. He was good in NOLA but yea he might have gotten the Pissy Crissy stimulus in PHX

He should be starting on the Bulls but Donovan is an idiot. He isnt a big scorer, his shot is streaky sure but he is a great connective passers, can hit an open 3 and is capable of scoring 10-12 regularly.

Defensively he is top 5 for guards and can credibly guard 1-3 and some smaller 4s in spurts. Dude is a chaos agents who can rack up steals without gambling, this is corny but he can QB a defense and call out plays.

Super fair contract too…some injury concerns but no knee/back issues. Can get ticky tack injuries bc he goes so hard

I think 2 firsts is a reach…id say 1 FRP and a young non blue chip prospect is fair.

Losing Ja was one thing but the loss of Adams was a knockout…best rebounder, set the league’s best screens. Screening is a super important of good defense, they create space and can knock a dermfense off axis. A lot of guys dont have the 1st step to beat a defender…they depend on that bone crunching screen to give them room to work and get to the lane

Also Adams lets JJJ be able to play free safety which he is best at defensively. Now JJJ has to stay in lane more and tussle with bigger centers

Plus/minus is noisy as hell. Defensive WS too
