You’re more than welcome to have your opinions on this watch, however I take issue with you bringing up the price of the movement as if that should effect the overall price of the watch. When you make a watch, there’s so much more to it than just the cost for your base movement. Just to make the watch itself you have to get the movement, case (and that consists of crystal, caseback, bezel, midcase, crown, crown tube, and all gaskets necessary for water resistance), dial, hands, and a strap/bracelet.

On top of that, there is an entire team behind the brand that also deserves credit too. There are the ones designing the watches, the customer support team, the marketing and social media team, a watchmaker (or several), as well as whoever else is in the company. All of their time and hard work was not done for free, and the sale of their watches directly goes towards paying their salaries and ensuring they can continue making great watches.

Just because you personally do not think the watch is worth what they are asking does not mean others feel the same, and to imply the cost of the movement should dictate the cost of the watch is incredibly disingenuous.

A few reasons to that. It’s going to generate more content and clicks by dragging this shit out long term, so for the YouTubers or content creators who make their living off of making watch content, the longer they talk about this by slowly releasing the info the better.

Also, the watch industry is fucking weird, with most brands and individuals being oddly shuttered and extremely secretive, so the people who know this info probably do not want to directly come out and say what they heard, in fear of their identity being outed and being blacklisted in the industry. Not even exaggerating saying this but FPJ in particular will literally blacklist customers for selling their watches. They expect them to buy and keep forever, and if you ever sell, ESPECIALLY if it’s a limited production piece, you will never buy from them again.

The dial has potentially been repainted at some point, but honestly it’s hard to tell from the low quality of those pictures.

Oddly the cyclops does not magnify either, leading me to believe someone potentially swapped the original acrylic crystal on this for an aftermarket sapphire or mineral glass crystal. The case, bracelet, and movement all appear correct.

If this is yours I would strongly urge you to bring it to a reputable watchmaker to have it assessed. Determining authenticity online can be difficult at times as pictures can mask potential issues.

From your basic description I’m guessing the balance staff broke from an impact, perhaps even a shattered or cracked cap jewel. Non shock protected watches were stupidly prone to broken balance staffs from drops.
