IMO, Amare was a more physically gifted defender. KAT is a more intelligent defender. They are both more concerned about saving their energy for offense.
Settlement reached. Cube’s attorneys entered negotiations with garlic and holy water. They didn’t even have to bust out the stakes. Ice Cube will be the new Count of the NBA. I mean Commisioner. Silver will be able to feed and then slumber for a century or two.
I’m probably completely wrong but here’s my take.
KP- Elite spacing gives the Celtics that desperately needed shooting big. Opens up the floors for the Js.
Smart- His defense with JJJ is just a complete nightmare for any team trying to run the pick n roll.
3 Dame- Pick and roll could be a nightmare with Giannis. His lack of defense could be problematic on the perimeter. Bucks losing Holiday may hurt more than realized.
4 Beal: can he be efficient and effective without volume? Will he play defense if he doesn’t have to be the sole source of offense? I think no but we will see.
5- CP3: Washed. Slow. Can’t be on the floor with Curry.
I’m sure I’ll get downvoted to oblivion but Ray is overrated as a 3pt shooter. He would go on epic cold stretches and would just keep chucking. His training, his form and his pedigree was top notch. But he was a very streaky to me. As a Celtics fan, I genuinely wanted Pierce with the ball for a clutch shot not Ray. (Yes of course I know about his winning shot for Miami)
I would much prefer Reggie Miller.
