The electorate on both sides have definitely soured on Israel, organically. I only expect the evangelicals to stay the same. AIPAC is having to reach deep into its war chest to buy elections and increasingly obfuscate its contributions through shell PACs now.

The government has been trying this weird half-assed interventionism since actual interventionism is such a hard sell post-Iraq and Afghanistan. Some bombing here, an attempt to arm rebel groups there… and if it fails, that’s for the locals to clean up. I’d argue this goes back to Obama and Trump continued it, but in a room temp IQ way that only Trump can manage.
Murican here. I think a lot of those are bot farms or nation-state actors atp. We need breaks from our own politics too.

1·6 days agoMassie was likely primaried for his stance on Israel. AIPAC was gloating about getting rid of him and they spent 30M to do it making it the most expensive primary in history.

2·6 days agoShe wanted a Senate run and Trump wouldn’t endorse her. Her moves since that and the Epstein stuff are out of spite for him and she’s coordinating with other Republicans as to not hurt their cause as a whole and burn bridges. She’s not gone yet unfortunately.

He made gains with Hispanics then proceeded to sic ICE on them. Now many are conservative as hell and have their own issues with colorism and racism, but I am curious to see how this plays out in 2028.

Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Donald Trump's Iran war timeline changes to another 2 weeks as public anger growsEnglish
1·9 days agoThe midterms have the potential to change things hence why Republicans moved to gerrymander the entire South. Trump could be a lame duck the rest of his term while the House launches investigations. Ted Cruz was crying about that. A lot of the stupid shit Trump does gets overturned even with him owning all three branches but almost none of it makes the headlines. Because his loses aren’t salacious unlike his flagrant violations, you don’t hear about them so you come away thinking he does whatever he wants.

Hmm so I both agree and disagree with you here. Hustle culture arises from societal things here such as hyperindividualism, Puritan work ethic and toxic masculinity that grifters package and push (where I agree with you). But it’s metastasizing from us to you all so it seems alien.
