The problem with innocent until proven guilty is that in practice you’re letting off most perpetrators scot free. How can someone possibly prove something was not consensual? Recordings maybe, but that’s only possible if they know it’ll happen beforehand. There’s no easy answer that doesn’t lead to some very bad outcomes.

Tactical fouls have had a huge negative effect on the product on the field. This rule makes them worse to commit so hopefully it limits them.

100%. If you actually care about performance and specs, get a G shock. Mechanical watches are inherently impractical so there’s no point in evaluating them on practicality.

Exactly, and for the 0.0001% of people for whom it actually does matter, they’d be better off getting a G shock or something because it’ll be more durable, keep better time, more readable in the dark, longer lasting battery, etc. No point in talking about practicality for something that’s inherently impractical.

I’m not complaining, I just think it’s a little silly to talk about the practicality of watches that are inherently inpractical. The labeling isn’t what I’m talking about. It’s about how some people talk about the watches. Liking submariners or speedmasters or something because one appreciates their beauty, craftsmanship, history, etc is one thing, but talking up their performance specs is another. Mechanical tool watches are an oxymoron. A G shock will outperform any 25k watch.

Sure, but IWC still has more mainstream presence than say Nomos or Sinn. Some rich person not into watches might walk into a store and say “I want the top gun watch”.
