Stop what, counting ballots? I believe that is the plan, yes.

Sowing doubt that people’s votes would count which could discourage others from voting would be my guess. I know what you said is right though. 🥲

Yep. John Oliver covered it in detail on Sunday. I hate that it’s true, but it’s true.

Just because you can do a thing, doesn’t mean that you should.

What did you hope to accomplish with your original reply?

Sorry… do you think that there won’t be hand recounts in Georgia with a maximum of three days to do it, despite the election board specifically saying the exact opposite?

There will not. It was overruled: Georgia judge blocks ballot counting rule and says county officials must certify election results

A very welcome new element in this story, but as I said to someone else, it will get appealed. This is not over.

And what do you think happens when it hits Georgia Supreme? I think we’ve seen this show before.

I do not have a “well informed opinion about everything.”

I just literally watched the Last Week Tonight episode that discusses this ratfuckery the Republicans are doing in Georgia four days ago.

That doesn’t make me well-informed, that makes John Oliver’s writers well-informed. And they literally showed clips of election workers complaining to the election board about the hand recount requirement.

I have no idea why you and the others are carrying water for GOP election officials, but you shouldn’t. They’re cheating right out in the open.
