I am new to watch winders and just purchased a wolf cub, however I have noticed these sporadic jerky movements in the rotation that I have filmed In slow motion, I have very limited knowledge about this so I was hoping someone could help me out and let me know what is causing it and if it is detrimental to my watch, thanks in advance:)

I have 5 of these winders, and having had watches in them for years, they’ve never caused any damage. I have no idea what you are concerned about, you will get much MUCH more jerky movements just wearing the watch (assuming you do actually wear it).

BLOT: ditch the winder but you’ll probably be fine
Winders are useful for perpetual calendars but this is a YM, the only mildly annoying part to set is the date and it’s quickset.
I saw an interview where Teddy Baldasarre asked a veteran watch-maker if winders were useful but he said as much - maybe for a perpetual calendar but he doesn’t use winders.
It’s impossible to say really, some people will have a watch constantly running for decades with no issue and some will require an AD overhaul right as the warranty expires - which for a YM is about $1k so nothing to sneeze at.It’s fine but return the winder and get your money back because it’s useless, just wear it and wind it when it dies
The motion is fine for your watch but I think winders are totally useless. Takes 2 seconds to set a watch and they add unnecessary wear by simulating round the clock usage.

That’s not the point. The watch is running 24/7. It’s going to decrease your time between services as opposed to it being a part of a rotation where it gets to sit out a couple days a week.
