They have:

- Anthony Edwards

- KAT

- Goubert

+ a bunch of good rol guys.

I may be missing something but to me this level of talent should be top 5-6 in the west.

The team has a lot of talented players. The problems is the pieces haven’t exactly fit together. Basketball is a team game after all

Cuz unlike their domesticated counterpart whom evolved from them, the dog, wolves are not easily tamed. Dogs are more docile and friendly and therefore better suited for working.

They will! Just need time on the court. Towns was injured last year and ant is growing.

The switch from towns to ant being top boy this year will make it work. Roles together becoming defined!

Other teams have better players. Gobert isn’t the same one man defense, Kat is talented but defensively is lacking, and is talented but still young. Combine all that and they’re not a perfect combo yet. Still will probably win 43 games or so

I think they do work, they just didn’t get that chance last season with KAT out and facing Denver in round 1

If all core players play 60ish games this season, Wolves should be 6th seed or above in my opinion

Last season, injuries and overall health. The team never was in a good spot and didn’t get time to develop chemistry on the court. They’ve looked quite good in preseason, I hope it carries into the regular season too.

Just looking at last season, they have a better fit at pg now, a second lockdown 3&D guy in NAW and healthy KAT to start the season. If they have average health they should be above the play in tourny

Gobert is not that guy, simple as that. It’s no different from the Utah Jazz 2018-2022 except the jazz had high expectations but they were overrated.

KAT thinks he’s a leader on and off the court, who has changed the game. In reality, he can’t stay on the court when it matters, acts like a toddler when things don’t go his way and hasn’t accomplished shit.

ANT is the only chance they have, and he’s gonna be good enough to lead them to success. Perhaps even this season, but it won’t work as long as KAT thinks he’s the man in Minnesota.

Because they’re still holding onto KAT after all these years, and he just isn’t that guy, but the Wolves are paying him like he is.

KAT missed half of the year, they were figuring out stuff and when everything finally fell into place before playoffs, Naz and McDaniels went down with injuries. Still, even Nuggets said that they were the hardest opponent they faced in playoffs. This year, if they stay relatively healthy, I don’t see them finishing bellow 4th seed.

I don’t think it’s fair to just assume they’re a good team. That front court fit is still very awkward.

I haven’t asked you to make that assumption.

I said we have to allow them a fair chance to find out.

And as for being a poor fit, I don’t really see how. Kat is as stretchy as a 4 can get, and Gobert is mired in the paint.

That doesn’t seem to be a bad combination.

Well we certainly have some idea lol. KAT is a great offensive player but he’s never been that good of a defender and he’s now defending out of position. It’s perfectly reasonable to say they won’t fit defensively until proven otherwise, just like it’s reasonable for you to say that they will fit offensively. Not sure how it’s fair for you to make assumptions but not me.

Who says they “don’t work”? They’re a playoff team with room to grow, which is more than can be said about half the league.

5-0 in the preseason. Some people may point to the level of competition, but that has historically been our weakness 😎
