Phili was willing to trade Harden to the Clippers in return for Terrance Mann and a few picks, which is an insane deal, but even more insane is that the Clips refused the deal.

Harden is great on offense which is exactly what Miami needs. He’s no Damien Lillard, but right now that’s about as close as you’re gonna get. I think Harden would also mesh well, since he would be #1 or #2 scoring option, when he’d be a solid third in LA.

Harden could be a pain to deal with in the future, but if the Heat can somehow get away with giving up Duncan Robinson and few picks for Harden that would be a great deal for the Heat. I’m sure Pat Riley could pull it off, since the 76ers seem pretty desperate.

But who knows, the Heat already fumbled two stars so they could definitely screw up squiring Harden if they tried I’m sure lmao.

They should! So I don’t have to worry about him coming to the Clippers. But to me, I think Pat Reilly looks at Harden and says “this is what’s wrong with the NBA” any time he sees his non defense, non running off the ball bearded ass.

His fat, lazy ass would never make it to February with the heat. All they did last season was bitch about Kyle Lowry being out of shape.

Harden’s not really out of shape. He just looks like it and his style of play is methodical and has him holding onto the ball a lot. His burst has definitely not where it used to be though

I mean Knicks could probably get Harden for Quickly Fornier and picks and they’d be the 3rd best team in the east.

I don’t care what anyone says honestly, the last thing I need is Randle, Barrett, and Harden breaking that 0/27 playoff record. Sometimes you just have to not invite the evil in.

If the Heat are contenders this season, any of the top 6 in the East is a contender. People need to realize this. The Celtics are fucking choke artists with the Jay’s as well as the Sixers stagnant ass Doc play, and the Bucks have to have everything go right offensively, which is difficult for them. Literally all of these teams can be out-coached and that’s why the best coach and most determined player keep making the Finals. But best coach and most determined player doesn’t have to be a continuing theme. There’s also a lot of luck involved.

    1. Miami already has limited assets, giving up 1 or 2 FRPs for a 34 y/o potential 1 yr rental is very questionable

    2. Arison does not want to pay huge taxes, which I believe Heat are only a few hundred thousands away from reaching the 2nd apron.

    3. Harden’s attitude in Miami’s system could be a problem

    4. History of underwhelming playoff performance

Could be more reasons but that’s what I got right now

Why would you think that the Heat would be the one who fumbles if Harden fails. He has literally walked out on 3 teams now. He’s the problem.

Because Miami believes strongly in their culture, believes strongly in Team before Individual, and believes in their roster. Harden is an awesome player, but tough to add someone like him mere days before a season. Throws a lot of your plans to the ground as a team and you’re starting from scratch.

Miami is comfortable with what they have. The Clippers are comfortable with what they have. The Sixers are not desperate to move James Harden at all. They’d have further dropped their price if they were…they’re only entertaining moving him because they’ve been backed into a corner slightly, not because they’re looking to jettison him. The Sixers know their title changes hinge on Harden being healthy, productive, and on the floor.

It’s ok James, you’ll get your bag in free agency…

But for real, Jimmy’s gonna be on his ass all day and we all know how James reacts to having to step up

Oh, I imagine they will eventually. If the Clippers can’t get a deal done.

Where Miami most needs help is scoring.

I’m going to ignore all the “culture” bullshit. Kyle Lowry is their current starting point guard.

“Harden will be a free agent!” Sure. So will Miami’s current starting point guard.

“Harden is getting older!” Sure. Miami’s current starting point guard is older. Also, worth noting that Harden is only days older than Butler.

Jimmy is getting older and Miami got worse during the offseason.

The Blazers just wanted to tank and still wouldn’t take Miami’s poo-poo platter of a trade offer (would have netted them picks and ensured they’d still suck.)

Unless Miami is trading Butler, then it’s time to go all in.
