We see after every season how people turn on players in the recent years after giving them so much praise and how they uplift one player after one season

i’ve watched him drop plenty of duds in important playoff games but still have his team win the game

hes had plenty of clutch moments too but most of the time the need for those moments shouldnt have existed in the first place

No you haven’t. The only players to average at least 25/5/5/1/1 over a 50-game playoff span are Giannis Antetokounmpo, Larry Bird, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Dwyane Wade, Jayson Tatum.

You’re holding him to a literally impossible standard. He literally has put the team on his back numerous times.

“those moments shouldn’t have existed in the first place” this shows that you have ZERO interest in arguing in good faith, “yeah he won the game, but i’m gonna move the goal posts” I hate using the term, but you’re clearly a hater. No interest in good faith arguments.

All the all time greats have had horrible moments in their career. Bird was pretty terrible in the first during his first championship in the finals. Kareem failed to make the playoffs in his prime a bunch. Kobe lost the 2004 finals through his poor play and they won game 7 in 2010, despite him shooting like complete garbage. The Raptors and Bucks wouldn’t have won without a superteam falling apart. Curry choked bad against the Cavs, during that one year. Magic had moments bad enough that he was called “tragic” KD choked against the warriors and last year.

Ending his career as a “good player” with no mvps or rings would be a massive let down tho, and the Celtics are kinda entering that point where the teams they put around him are gonna get worse and worse esp with the new CBA

I dunno how you can look at this celtics team and think it’s worse than any other celtics team since Tatum was drafted. They consistently have one of the best front offices in the league and have made the ECF 5 out of the last 7 years with wildly different supporting casts and its not like they’ve made some all in trade that costs them all their future assets, I don’t see a great reason why they wouldn’t able to remain competitive for several more years seeing as Tatum is just starting to hit his physical prime.
