I was skimming through pro football reference yesterday, and was looking at Kamara and CMC’s career stats. They have essentially had the exact same production in their careers.

Player Carries Rush Yards Receptions Receiving Yards Touches Scrimmage Yards TDs
Alvin Kamara 1,204 5,396 465 3,930 1,669 9,326 72
Christian McCaffrey 1,150 5,324 468 3,984 1,618 9,308 71
Difference 54 72 3 54 51 18 1

Both were drafted in 2017. Kamara has played in a few more games, but they have still had almost the same amount of carries and receptions. McCaffrey gets slightly more work on a per game basis, but maybe that’s contributed to him missing more time due to injury as well.

Overall though, it’s kinda crazy that after 6.5 seasons, two elite RBs from the same draft class are only separated by 18 scrimmage yards and 1 touchdown.

2019 is a great example of how dominate this RB class was. That season, 14 RBs had at least 1,300 yards from scrimmage. 8 were from this draft class (McCaffrey, Fournette, Cook, Jones, Ekeler, Carson, Mixon, Kamara). That list doesn’t even include Kareem Hunt who led the league in rushing yards their rookie year. Just crazy depth for a single class.

Maybe, but id also argue being able to be the workhorse is worth something over someone who gets 12 a game for more yards per carry.

Either way all of those guys are studs for the most part.

That whole class is pretty wild.

That was the year we decided to wait and draft Donnel Pumphrey in the 4th ¬¬

Man that’s an interesting af comparison!

They’re actually all fairly close in most stats!

My man Jones still with the least carries has the 5.1 ypc lead. But for the most part they’re all fairly statistically close in every single category except that CMC and Kamara have a strong lead in catches and receiving yards. But even with almost 200 more catches, CMC only has 7 more receiving tds than Jones.

It really is wild how close they all are. What happened to Cook, though? I thought he was cooking for a few years and now it seems almost like he’s burned out his motor? And I honestly don’t know Conner. Is he that good, just on the Cardinals?

Kamara is behind in receptions. With 3 more catches in this Saints offense, he could have like 1 more receiving yard.

He’s also ahead in games played by 10 damn games lol. Absolutely wild to say they have almost the same stats and leave out the fact that Kamara has played the equivalent of >an extra half of a season

Kamara and CMC were the 2nd ever pair of rookies to have 75+ receptions. Had Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry not done it the year prior they would have been the first.

Would’ve been crazy if two running backs were the very first but whatever still crazy to me.

I’d like to see the percentage of runs vs stacked boxes etc because not all teams are the same. CMC has never had a first ballot hall of famer at QB.

Kamara carrying the team after Brees left. I’d give him that nod over CMC, although CMC missed probably a whole seasons worth of games and output the same.

Let’s heat this thread up. We can say the difference between them is the amount of nightclub beatdowns (1 vs 0) but the true difference between them is how CLASSY, DATEABLE, SCRAPPY and STEREOTYPE BREAKING Christian McCaffrey is.

Plenty of folks regardless of race are popular despite their past (Ray Lewis, Peyton Manning, etc)… don’t try to tell me the club thing is affecting Kamara. No one really cares… Saints vs 9ers is a better argument
