The Clippers are a truly hilarious franchise. Kawhi, PG, Harden & Russ are all FAs after this season. Here’s what their future 1st round picks look like:

  • ‘24 to OKC
  • ‘25 swap w/ OKC
  • ‘26 to OKC
  • ‘27 swap with OKC
  • ‘28 to PHI
  • ‘29 swap with PHI

They’ve also traded 6 2nds away.

Damn, puts into perspective how much of a “larry o brien or bust” this team is. They don’t have any of their picks till 2029.

This trade probably means they’ll all re-sign though. Things probably won’t get terrible until 2026 I think

Also that 2026 pick to OKC now goes to the sixers

Definitely a small chance though if they disappoint in the playoffs like we did this year, one of PG/Kawhi could leave?

Absolutely no reason not to re-sign everybody now. There is literally no benefit to them tanking. They are way better off with a middling team of aging stars than starting over from scratch. There isn’t even a scratch to start over from.

        Plus it’s LA

Like we’ve just seen star players don’t care if it’s the Clippers or the Lakers. They just wanna play in LA

        With a new arena

They’ll have no problem getting free agents

If they weren’t in LA, I’d start getting worried that they wouldn’t be able to find NBA players to put on the court… I assume by the time 2028 rolls around, they’ll be bad, but… Not as doomed as they look right now.

Now 26th it’s with sixers protected from OKC. And 27th it’s fully OKC no swap.

The sixers get the worst of OKC’s, LAC’s, HOU’s and potentially MIA’s or DEN’s 2026 first round picks.

Westbrook will go to the sixers as the big FA Morey wants to keep cap space for

Swapping with OKC isn’t really all that bad even though it is true OKC is trending up and LAC is trending down. I still expect LAC to be better in 25. They will most likely re-sign at least 3 of those guys. I think they’ll re-sign all 4. Even if you assume that 3 of the 4 will miss 20-30 games a season I still think they’re fine.

If they click and get hot at the right moment they can absolutely win the championship. And I think that is worth the risk. If they build a new arena and win the chip this guy is going to make like a billion dollars overnight

Yeah, but Philly gets the worst out of the OKC, LAC or HOU picks. They don’t get to pick which one they get.

Well, Harden is almost certainly gone after this season if he’s still holding out for that full 4 year max deal.

PJ Tucker is also technically free agent but I am sure he is taking that player option.
