I’ll take the downvotes but in real time (and from this angle) I can understand how the call was missed because it really doesn’t look egregious. I swear I watched the replay 20 times and slowed down and I’m still having trouble seeing exactly where KD got hit and who exactly hit him. Was it Keldon or Jones?

Holy shit these comments. That’s about as perfect a steal play as you can make at the end of a game. He grabbed it, kept it at his chest level, and had it stolen. I don’t…I just don’t get it these days. Why not just end the game if you don’t have any chance to steal the ball. Trap, steal. Woof.

let’s reflect on Kelden Johnson’s effort for a second. that kid balls out every game. Pop’s calls him “mustang” for a reason. He even has a gold medal. he was an absolute steal in the draft.

not sure what the fuck this thread is on, where is the foul during the play?

33’s hand hit KD’s face after Johnson had already stolen the ball

Guarantee you 95% of the people ITT calling this an obvious call (after looking at the replay in slow motion several times) would’ve missed it in real time.

You’re wrong, the number is 100%.

The number 1 stupidest thing of the sports internet is people complaining about calls based on slow mo high def replays.

If it’s hard to see in real time a human being isn’t going to see it. Nephews stop.

And let’s not even get into the fact that everyone sells contact like crazy now, so, on an important play, if a guy throws his head back, what, it’s an automatic foul because it could have been a foul and it’s too hard to see in real time?

Can’t wait for the L2R to say the contact to KD’s face was marginal, thus no foul was committed. Blood occurred after the play.

The reason it was so close in the first place is cuz of phx’s depth. The trio needs to be out there to actually cause teams any trouble, KD though being one the greatest can’t score all by himself and the spurs got kinda lucky only at the end but throughout the run they were making shots

Johnson’s steal was a game-changing play. His quickness and anticipation allowed him to intercept the ball, giving his team a crucial advantage. Check out the replay to see his impressive defensive skills in action.
